The most beautiful time of a flower...
A question in the garden..
We had a small yard, not much bigger than my living room today, it was easy to care for and it was just the right size for the two of us. I would often spend time out in the yard laying in the grass, basking in the sunshine while Tahlia played in her shell sand pit.
We had sown seeds of wild flowers called Cosmos, they grew up long with pink and orange blooms. Such an easy flower to grow, once the bloom died, all its spiky black seeds sat out on the stem. It was easy to grab them and literally throw them into the garden again , soon after they would spring up with their beautiful colours decorating my garden.

I loved admiring them, they brought so much colour and whimsy to our little yard. Inside the crown of petals sat an array of little yellow star shaped stamens, like a miniature golden universe.
One day I lay in the grass, looking up into the sky, admiring the way the sun glowed through the beautifully thin delicate petals of my cosmos flowers. They shimmered dancing with light and shadow as the wind gently moved them. It was so peaceful and warm under the sun when His gentle voice settled upon my soul..." When is the most beautiful time of a flower?"
The question seemed to linger it finally settled upon my mind capturing my curiosity. I sat up and looked into the blooms. Of course, the most beautiful time is just as they are now, bright colourful, dancing in the sunlight, standing upright strong and beautiful. They attract all the bees and butterflies, they are at their most lovely time.
His voice came gently again.." A flowers most beautiful time, is when it dies, for it has fulfilled its purpose, and that is most beautiful to Me."
The words came so gently, but with a rush of understanding, visually a flower is beautiful in bloom and ugly when it dies, but a flower cut produces nothing from its beauty, it may last a little while, but soon it dies producing nothing more, and only good to be thrown away. But a flower that dies connected to the plant gives birth to its seed, it gives life to tens of other flowers that then produces many more, and so this is the true purpose of its beauty, but for a moment to shine, then to let go and allow new life to take its place.
